What is the relationship between Universal Elements and Cardinal Directions?
All the cardinal directions are related to the natural forces of life. Having identified this, Vaastu Shastra suggests placements and activities related to natural forces and earth zones. This give satisfactory results. The south-west direction and zone represents the Earth. It is the most stable element of nature so this should be used for heavy godowns in the industry and master bedroom in the house. The South-East zone represents fire. So, this zone should be kept aside for the furnace, boiler and transformer in an industry and the kitchen in a house. The North-East is contrary to the above. It is a cool zone and is assigned to water. It is beneficial to have an underground water storage tank, water fountain or this area should be kept open. The North-West is represented by the air elements, so stock of finished goods should be kept here.
