What is the relationship between the school psychology credential program and the educational psychology masters degree program?
The school psychology program at CSULB is not a degree-granting program. Upon completion, students are eligible to receive the California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential in school psychology, which is required to work as a school psychologist in any public K-12 California school. In addition to completing the 60 credit course of study for the school psychology credential, students must complete a masters pdegree. Master’s degrees in the behavioral sciences from other accredited Universities are generally acceptable, or the student may complete the Joint Educational Psychology/School Psychology program which results in a master’s in Educational Psychology and eligibility for the PPS school psychology credential upon completion of credential coursework and fieldwork hours.
