What is the relationship between the math curriculum and the math teaching materials?
The District Math curriculum includes the Common Core Outcomes and Learning Targets at each grade level researched and developed by the District and adopted by the Board. The current curriculum materials were reviewed by math teachers and community members, and approved by the Board. Adopted materials are intended to form the backbone of the curriculum. It is understood that no one set of materials is perfect. Board policy provides for teacher judgment in the use of supplemental materials provided teacher fidelity of implementation with the adopted curriculum.
