What is the relationship between the Lamont Logging Scientist and the rest of the shipboard party?
Lamont Logging Scientists plays a dual role. In addition to providing the required logging services, they are also members of the shipboard scientific party. Each Logging Scientist is expected to contribute fully to the scientific research endeavors of the cruise and in post-cruise science activities. Loggers are required to stand the normal sampling shift, although they do arrange for a replacement during logging operations.
