What is the relationship between Shepherds Green Sanctuary and The Pig Preserve ?
When The Pig Preserve was first contemplated in 2005, it was to be a joint venture between Shepherd’s Green Sanctuary in TN and Mini-Pigs Sanctuary in VA. With the mutual consent of both boards of directors, Mini-Pigs Sanctuary merged with and was absorbed by Shepherd’s Green Sanctuary. During 2006 and 2007, based on a number of decisions by the Shepherd’s Green Sanctuary’s board of directors, Shepherd’s Green has slowly but inexorably removed itself from participating in the formation and operation of The Pig Preserve. This move to divest itself from any association with The Pig Preserve has been a unilateral move on the part of the Shepherd’s Green board of directors. In July 2007, the board of directors of The Pig Preserve Association contacted the board of directors of Shepherd’s Green Sanctuary with a request for a contract in which the original 2005 agreements between Mini-Pigs Sanctuary and Shepherd’s Green Sanctuary could be set down in writing and updated/renegotiated if need
