The information can be a credit card number, or any other type of private information. Credit card transactions still need to be processed once the credit card number is received. The scrambling process slows the page down significantly, so not every page should be secured. Real-time online credit card processing is the use of an online credit card service, like CyberCash, to post charges to credit cards and receive an immediate response indicating that the charge was accepted or declined.
