What is the relationship between IBICA and Brethren in Christ World Missions (BICWM)?
These two ministries, while fully supportive of each other, are separate entities with differing, but equally-important, objectives. BICWM is a ministry of and accountable to the General Conference of the North American (USA and Canada) Brethren in Christ Church. Its purpose is “to extend the Kingdom of God as we labor cross-culturally with other believers to evangelize, disciple, serve and plant churches, and to challenge the Brethren in Christ Church to accomplish the Great Commission with prayers, personnel, and finances” (Manual of Doctrine and Government). The leadership of BICWM is fully aware of and strongly endorses the IBICA and its role and developing vision. The IBICA is a separate, legal entity from the North American BIC Church, and is accountable to the various international BIC conferences that comprise its membership and elect its executive committee. Its mandate, as stated earlier, is to connect and coordinate needs and efforts of the global BIC family, primarily throu
