GKIDS has produced the Festival for the past ten years, and our company’s founder, Eric Beckman, continues as co-director of the annual Festival. GKIDS has now split off to focus on new media outlets, including online, in theaters and DVD, for some of the great films we’ve come across while programming the Festival. The New York Int’l Children’s Film Festival is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to putting on the annual NYC event. GKIDS still helps with marketing and press for the annual event, but the two organizations are very much distinct.
