Genes interact with an organisms environment in order to create appearances. This relationship demonstrates the connection between an organisms genotype and phenotype. The genotype of an individual is the genetic information carried by the organism’s genes , whether or not the genes are actively expressed as proteins . In comparison, the phenotype denotes all the observable characteristics of an individual, such as physical appearance (eye color, height, etc.) and internal physiology.
