What is the relationship between FSC, Rainforest Alliance and SmartWood?
The mission of the Rainforest Alliance is to protect ecosystems and the people and wildlife that depend on them by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior. The Rainforest Alliance was established in 1987 and founded SmartWood, the worlds largest nonprofit independent forestry certifier. Rainforest Alliance is accredited by the Forest Stewardship Council which they helped establish in 1993.
