What is the relationship between FIRST®, FLL and Central Texas FLL?
U.S FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an international non-profit that designs accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math. FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) is the FIRST® program designed for the middle school age group, though there are FIRST® programs for all ages, including elementary and high schoolers. FIRST® is responsible for issuing the Annual Challenge each FLL season and for registering teams and providing them with kits. However, FLL Seasons across the world are managed locally by Partners who fundraise for and coordinate all events. Central Texas FLL is coordinated through a partnership between Skillpoint Alliance (an Austin-based non-profit) and National Instruments, with the support of many other local organizations.
