This means one milliliter of water will have a mass of one gram. The only thing I can think of in relation to your question is “what happens to density as the concentration changes?” It depends on what is mixed with what. Example: if you add potassium to water, the concentration of KOH goes up, and because K is more dense than water, the density goes up. BUT if you add lithium to water, the concentration of LiOH goes up, but because Li is less dense than water, the density goes down.
