What is the relation between the OpenBerg Project and the Open Reader Consortium ?

0

That is difficult to say. Both projects have comparable objectives: develop OpenSource tools implementing an OpenStandard for e-publications. At the moment, the OpenBerg Project is working purely on implementation, while the OpenReader Project is working purely on completing and amending the OpenStandard for e-publications, OEBPS. In the future, when OpenBergReader is more mature, we will probably start working on improving the standard. Conversely, when OpenReader’s work on format is complete, they will probably start implementation. In this case, the two projects will become competition. However, it is also quite possibile that both projects will merge at some point.
