What is the refining process to produce gasoline verses diesel fuel?
It’s the same process where all primary oil products are destilled in one column: with lowest temperatures Butan + Propan, then gasoline, then kerosin, then diesel / light oil, then heavy oils, then bitumen which des not varpourise at highest temperature. gasoline can be produced in a second step by cracking longer molecules and adding hydrogen, the other way round diesel can be sytetically produced (which is not used yet as fas as I know.
