The Red Tab Foundation is an independent non-profit organization that provides short-term emergency assistance to Levi Strauss & Co. employees who find themselves in desperate financial need due to a qualifying emergency that threatens their lives and/or homes. It was founded in 1981 by Jerry O’Shea, a former LS&Co. sales manager and marketing executive who wanted to give back to his fellow employees. Today the Red Tab Foundation is funded by company stockholders, retirees, and employees.
