What is the red deer?
Red deer are a species of deer. They live in herds. The male battles it out for the females during the ruttng season. The male red deer is called a stag, A young (infant) is called a calf. The female is called a doe. Red deer live in Scotland and Asia( some parts of new zealend too) They prefer cold climates and eat whats called grass. Red deers meat is sold and called venison(Which you may had heard of before.
