What is the recovery time for carpal tunnel surgery?
This is an outpatient procedure. The patient can resume most normal activities of daily living almost immediately. We do ask that your refrain from lifting with the hand you had operated on for at least the first 2 weeks. You can return to work almost immediately depnding upon the type of work that you do. For occupations that require heavy lifting, you will most likely need to be off 4 – 6 weeks unless light duty work is available.
