I don’t know who those people are answering this question but don’t listen to them. If you are having an ABDOMINAL HYSTERECTOMY a FULL recovery is stated to be 6-8 weeks!!!!! For a vaginal hysterectomy it is stated 2 weeks. Of course every individual is different. But because if is abdominal and an incision will be made and sutures will be made on the inside of the abdominal wall it needs time to recover. If you start lifting too soon, or doing too much it can take longer for the incision to heal and pull. On the inside, they put sutures, in which after the surgery you will have an increase in discharge because those sutures are dissolving. You may even see small pieces of the suture pass. If you start lifting or doing too much you may cause those suture woulds to pull on the inside and cause some bleeding. You may feel well withing a week or 2, but remember you are still healing even if on the exterior it loOKs ok. The inside also needs to heal. But do to the increase moisture it take
