What is the Recovery Boot Jumper used for?

0

The Recovery Boot Jumper is used in the event that the BIOS in the system becomes corrupted. To perform a BIOS recovery, the user would need to prepare a bootable floppy with the BIOS code and update utility. Next move the jumper from the protect pins to the recover pins, insert the diskette into the floppy drive and power on the system. A series of beeps will indicate the recovery process has begun. When the process is completed, another series of beeps will occur. Note: There will be no video during this process. Once the process is completed, the system needs to be powered off and unplugged. The Recovery Boot jumper should be moved back to the protect position and the system should then be ready for use. Refer to the product manual or the Technical Product Specification for greater detail on this process.
