What is the recommended sealer quantity and placement for obturating with different Thermafil carriers?

We now have a stable heat source – the ThermaPrep oven. For obturators heated in this oven, place a small amount of sealer on a paper point or sonic applicator and distribute evenly, as a light coating along the full working length of the canal walls. This has been shown to reliably produce a micro-thin, uniform sealer interface between the gutta-percha and dentin. Even though moderate amounts of sealer applied in the coronal one-third have consistently produced thousands of successful obturations with flame-heated metal obturators, the sealer placement and method described above is an improvement resulting from research and is recommended for all Thermafil obturations.
