The FSSC was asked to develop a Recommended Exam List in addition to the Appropriate Exam List owing to the FSA’s dis-application of the appropriate exam requirements for wholesale business therefore providing a list of suitable examinations for those employers who still wish to use examinations. The second reason for this new development was to provide a list of examinations which are suitable for the various sub-sectors within the financial services industry outside of the appropriate exam remit.
