What is the reason that we use computer networks in an organization?
A computer network has many advantages. It can be used to make data accessible from any computer on the network. Imagine burning a new CD every time you had to copy over a file or two. Networking also allows the sharing of printers. A company would go broke trying to buy a printer for each individual computer. It also allows user accounts on the actual network server, this way any user can access their account on any computer. It allows the organization to buy a network version of a program, and have it installed on the server so all the computers get the application, rather than buying the application for each and every one. The one main problem is if the network is down, everything is down. However, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages, so almost every organization uses a network.
