The Moratorium is to afford the Commission the opportunity to review existing regulations and policies governing the industry for the following reasons: a. There has been a significant increase in the number of taxicab companies and associations which has resulted in difficulty assigning unique color schemes. The resulting difficulty in distinguishing companies has led to enforcement issues; and b. The Districts regulations applicable to limousine operations presents significant operational challenges and there is a need to review these regulations to address these issues. When does the Moratorium begin and when does it expire? The Moratorium lasts for ninety (90) calendar days, beginning August 4, 2008 and expires on November 2, 2008. Will the Moratorium be extended beyond its current expiration date of November 2, 2008? There is currently legislation before the Council that would extend the Moratorium further. B17-894 would change the period covered by the moratorium from 90 calendar
