What is the reason for the large number (29) of interpolation layers in TLPsims default “interpolation layer” specification. Is this really necessary?
Tendon interpolation tables are *very, very* sensitive to small vertical displacements due to the extreme stiffness of these structural members. TLPsim utilizes the same “catenary-elastic” load evaluation engine as the other SeaSoft simulations, although it needs to be used with greater care because of the extreme stiffness of the system.
