What is the reason for the different name plates / badges on Simaudio MOON products?
A brief history on the MOON product line best explains this:   Originally (1996), MOON products were built with a gold-colored oval name-plate inscribed with the “Celeste” name. However, the “Celeste” name was eventually replaced (1997) with “Sim Audio”.   In both cases, the faceplates were a pewter color with a “blueish” tint.   As well, the 4 legs were black and their matching pointed cone feet were gold-colored. In the fall of 1999, we dropped the gold colored “Sim Audio” oval badge and it was replaced with the newer square logo in black and pewter along with the name “MOON” silk-screened onto the faceplate directly below the logo.   The standard faceplate finish is now black with silver legs and black pointed cone feet.   As well, we offer an optional silver finish faceplate that comes with a gold colored logo and gold pointed cone feet. Earlier MOON components (pre Fall 1999) can have their faceplate and name-plate upgraded to the current style.   Please vi
