What is the reason for no child seat in the Shop & Carry® food wagon?
There is no child seat in the Shop & Carry® food wagon for several reasons. One is that the US Consumer Product Safety Commission reported 12,000 Hospital Emergency Room treated head injuries in 1988 due to children falling from seats in metal wagons. Additional accidents involving dislocated arms and other injuries are not included in this count! Even with seat belts on, children have reached for shelves and pulled themselves over along with the fully loaded metal wagon. It has been published that most doctors will say placing a child in any shopping wagon is not safe. Today, far less parents are using the child seats due to these statistics. In addition, we found in many cases, that both parents are working. Much of the food shopping is therefore done on the way home from work or when the children are with another care giver.
