What is the reason for dmv fees to rise in Florida?
Florida DMV fees about to go up Reported by: Keith Baker Email: kbaker@abcactionnews.com Last Update: 12:44 pm TAMPA, FL — Tuesday September 1st means a new month and a big boost for Florida driver license fees. The Florida legislature approved the fee increases to plug holes in the state budget. If you renew your driver’s license today it will be $20, but starting tomorrow it jumps an additional $28. To update your vehicle registration that was $36 before, tack on another $21 Tuesday. Helpful information about the fee list can be found on the Florida Department of Highway Safety’s web site at http://www.flhsmv.gov/MotoristFees.htm Only those whose license expires in the next 18 months can get a new license. Those whose birthday is before December 1st can renew their registration. Sources:
The price you pay for a drivers license or a new car tag will more than double next Tuesday. Lawmakers voted to raise the fees to raise 800 million dollars to help fill a 3 billion dollar budget hole. Drivers are racing to the DMV to renew their licenses and tags before prices go up. Drivers are rushing to the DMV to beat the deadline. Stephanie Sheppard just replaced her lost license for 10 bucks… the new price will be 25. and that is because we are human. Being human means frailties and poor behavior traits and decision making. I am a retired traffic policeman, a supervising Sergeant, who has seen it all. My job was to attend all serious and fatal crashes (not accidents as there are none). I also investigated police crashes. Humans blame the roads, the weather, the other driver, their personal problems, fog, distractions, wet roads, the car, the tires, the dirty windscreen or just about everything else for their misadventures. Few accept any responsibility for their own actions. Yes,
