Eddie George firm wins landscape design bid for historic North Nashville area By Associated Press 3:01 AM CDT, October 29, 2009 NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Former Tennessee Titan Eddie George is planning a major overhaul of Nashville’s historically black Jefferson Street district. George is a founding partner of the EDGE landscape architecture firm that won the design consulting job through a competitive bid. The Tennessean reports the overhaul to be unveiled Thursday is intended to bring new economic development to North Nashville by reducing the impact Interstate 40 has on the neighborhood where Fisk University and Tennessee State University are located.
