The gauge factors for VW strain-gauges are generic factors calculated from the dimensions and the physical properties of the gauge material. The VW strain-gauges are not individually calibrated. The “Real Gauge Factor” is obtained by carrying out calibration on selected strain gauges from each manufacturing batch.
