What is the read length, number of reads, and total amount of data I can expect?
Generally, we expect to see an average of 25M raw reads from a good sequencing run. However, the actual number of reads can vary based on sample quality and natural variation in library and cluster preparations. The read length of each sequencing run will vary based on the needs of each specific application and the depth of coverage required. For example, high coverage of small RNA can be achieved with a 35 cycle single-read sequencing run. Whole transcriptome sequencing of complex organisms with large genomes may require a 75 cycle paired-end sequencing run.
