Within their two-year commitment, Teach For America’s corps member retention rate is 92 percent (for the 2008 corps), which is higher than both the estimated average for new teachers in low-income communities staying in the profession for a second year (about 84 percent), and the national average of all new teachers who stay in teaching for a second year (86 percent).
