The device has a range of up to 20 feet. This may vary due to environmental and Radio Frequency interference. Logitech® Freedom 2.4™ Cordless Joystick Sleep Mode To preserve battery life the Logitech® Freedom 2.4™ Cordless Joystick is designed to put itself into sleep mode after 2 minutes of inactivity. When the joystick enters this sleep mode the receiver light will blink. This situation can occur in some flight simulation games that require a very long period of auto-pilot. Once in sleep mode, the joystick can be awakened by pressing the trigger or any of the buttons on the device. At this point, the receiver light with remain solid and the light on the controller will turn green, showing proper connectivity. In order to prevent the joystick from entering sleep mode during long periods of auto-pilot, you must either press a button press or move an axis of the controller every 2 minutes or less.
