What is the Radiation Test?
The SCDA offers the radiation test to anyone in the dental office who needs it (mainly assistants). The dentist does not have to be a member, but a dentist must sign off on the certification sheet that the assistant is proficient in taking x-rays. Everyone must register at least 7 days prior to the test. The cost is $80 and that includes a book and CD to study by and the testing fee. If you do not want the book and video, the cost is $40. The test is given every 3 months in Columbia at Midlands Technical College – Airport Campus in the main auditorium.
