The insulation material that is used in the construction of a New Horizons is a 1 1/2″ closed cell rigid foam that is often used in the construction of walk-in freezers and coolers. This material has an R-rating of eight and when combined with the materials to build the walls we have conservatively estimated the R-factor to be around 9 to 11 with the roof and floors even higher.
