What is the quality(brightness, focus etc) of a data projector?

As with many electronic components quality and performance varies widely among different brands/models. Digital projectors fall into two broad classes … data (or business) projectors and home theater projectors. The two have many similarities, but some important differences. In general HT projectors have better video processing, higher contrast, and higher resolution than data projectors (but are usually more expensive). There are three general resolution classes for projectors: sub-HD (e.g. 800×600), 720p HD, and 1080p HD projectors. Data projectors usually fall in the first group (and more expensive models to some degree into the second). The two HD classes compete well with 720p and 1080p class HDTVs as regard video quality. HOWEVER, projectors generally give their best performance in a dim/dark room and on a dedicated screen. In general, projectors provide 2X the image size for the $$ as an HDTV. Bulbs are expensive. Typically $250-$500 each, and dim slowly with use, lasting 2000
