Good question! These sheets are made from 100% cotton with a sateen finish. They are pre-shrunk and have perma press protection. The thread count is 250 per inch. Many manufacturers are falsely claiming higher thread count by saying they have multiple fibers in each twist of the thread. The true test is the weight of the material. The material in this King Flat shet for instance weighs 2.2 pounds. This gives a very durable yet soft to the touch sheet.
