What is the QIO Clinical Data Warehouse and why should my hospital upload data to it?
The Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) Clinical Data Warehouse contains data uploaded from hospitals across the nation. The intent of this repository is to: • Reduce the burden of duplicate data collection and reporting The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Joint Commission have come together to reduce the burden of duplicate record requests related to this initative. Any records requested by CMS will not be re-requested if they have already been uploaded to the QIO Clinical Data Warehouse. • Provide comparative data on a state and national level Because hospitals from across the nation are submitting their data, the reports generated from the warehouse will provide you with more robust data and allow you to compare your performance with hospitals that don’t use your vendor.
