What is the PVBIA all about?
When it comes to finding therapists to work with our children, demand far exceeds supply. We are increasing the available pool of therapists, by providing a basic training program to friends, neighbors and relatives who are interested in working with children with autism. • Why do I have to sign a contract? POAC-NoVA is an all-volunteer organization of parents just like you. The contract helps everyone involved understand exactly what is expected of him or her, so there are no hard feelings later. • When can therapists start working with my child? Hands-on training & instruction sessions with your therapist will begin in early October. For the first few weeks, these sessions will be limited to four hours per week, and will increase to eight hours per week for the remainder of the program. • How much should I pay my therapist?
