What is the purpose of vents (IVS) in a jacket?
Venting is what keeps garments versatile. With vents you can cool yourself down temporarily if you are riding aggressively for part of a cold day. Or you can wear your fully insulated snowmobile jacket on warm days with your vents wide open. Vents not only allow outside air in, but they also allow moist hot air produced from your body to escape. If you are perspiring, open your vents to allow the moist air to escape. Staying dry will help keep you warm.
