What is the purpose of variable illumination?
A. Variable illumination is a function that adjusts the light output applied to each colour on the colour wheel. Increasing the amount of light on the R (red) portion of the colour wheel, for example, has the same effect as increasing the size of the red area on the wheel. Using variable illumination, a variety of colour balance modes can be created without having to change the colour wheel itself.
