Shape-shifting is a religious and cultural phenomenon that has existed in variety of forms throughout human history. The concept of shape-shifting being discussed here refers to the idea of people believing themselves to be transformed into another being, either mentally or physically. In the article titled “How to transform into goddesses and elephants: Exploring the potentiality of the dialogical self”, Prof. Gieser (2006) focuses on modern witchcraft known as Wiccan (Wicca) and tries to explain transformations that practitioners of Wiccan go through using the theory of dialogical self.
