The purpose is to consider whether to mandate Ngati Tama Mandate Limited to enter into negotiations with the Crown on behalf of those Ngāti Tama who do not choose to have their historical claims in the Port Nicholson Block settled by the Taranaki Whānui ki Te Upoko o Te Ika settlement legislation and to negotiate a comprehensive settlement of those historical claims in the Port Nicholson Block.
