What is the purpose of the prospective student and parent interviews prior to admission?
Foremost, the interview process exists so that we can learn more about each student who applies, so that admissions decisions are not based on standardized test scores or middle school grades. The application interview with prospective students and their parent(s) helps the school determine how well the academic program at Ideal Schools matches the expectations of students and parents, and to determine whether students and parents are comfortable with the expectations and standards of Ideal Schools, which is a school that values each student while requiring them to give their best effort to do well academically. Therefore, the interview gives the school an opportunity to sit down with each student and his or her parent(s) to discuss the educational approach at Ideal Schools before students and their parents commit to the school and the school commits to students and their parents.
