What is the purpose of the palette and how can I better use it to encourage student writing?
The purpose of the Palette is to offer various supports at a single click at anytime. The Palette contains many icons; however, some students may find this distracting as they work. To encourage students as they write, remove the Palette icons they will not need. To do this, sign in as a teacher (your password is school). In the Writer drop-down list, select the writer and click Palette. Remove any unwanted icons from the Palette by clicking each icon in the Palette Commands list and click Remove. When you are done, click OK. Next time the writer signs in, the Palette will display the shortened list of icons.
