What is the purpose of the outboard bracket?
The outboard transom bracket provides several significant attributes which are worth mentioning. 1. Positioning of the motors on a bracket outboard of the transom allows for significant enhancement of the interior design by virtue of allowing all mechanical aspects of the motor (i.e. wiring, fuel lines, steering mechanism, etc.) to be mounted out of sight. This allows the interior of the transom to take on the appearance of much larger inboard boats. 2. The positioning outboard of the transom also creates a noise barrier between the engine and occupants of the boat. This results in a significant reduction in noise level. In some cases, the full transom is appealing because it provides a barrier from following seas.
