What is the purpose of the homework diary in KS2 and 3?

Please use the homework diary for communication on a daily basis – but not for absences or appointments when a separate letter is needed. The diary is meant to be a link between home and school and as such should always be with your child. We do need your support for this, reminding your child in the morning to ensure that the diary goes in the school bag! For our part we will do our best to ensure that the diary comes home to you along with your child’s reading record after school every day. Please use the diary if your child was unable to complete his/her homework for whatever reason or if he/she spent the allocated time on it and did not finish. Parents can also use the diary to comment on how hard their child works on a task!
