The purpose of the Guidelines is to eliminate much of the confusion that surrounds HD device functionality by providing marketing guidelines for HDMI-related features. The Guidelines include the following requirements: • If a specific version of HDMI is specified, manufacturers will be required to list all features enabled by that version of HDMI. Manufacturers will no longer be able to simply list a version of HDMI alone. • When listing specific features that are enabled by HDMI, manufacturers will be required to use consistent terminology that is specified in the Guidelines. • Additionally, the Guidelines define minimum technical requirements for key HDMI functionality, including Deep Color, x.v.Color and cables.
