What is the purpose of the Great Lakes Restoration Project Inventory?
• provide concrete examples of on-the-ground restoration projects that will make a compelling case to Congress that increasing authorizations and appropriations for Great Lakes restoration are a critical need; • Serve as a tool to HOW Coalition members to help set annual national priorities. Projects in the inventory should only be viewed as examples of the types of on-the-ground restoration work that could be accomplished if Congress authorizes and appropriates funding at appropriate levels to meet the goals of the recommendations in the GLRC Plan. The project inventory will not be used to rank or prioritize projects nor will it be used as a “report card” to grade restoration progress in the states. However, it may be used as an accountability tool with Congress and the HOW Coalition. Project submitters should understand that there is no guarantee that their projects will receive funding.
