What is the purpose of the DVD menu?
In a courtroom, it is vital that video is started quickly and nothing is missed by the jury. Without a menu, a DVD will begin playing immediately in the DVD player when the disc is inserted. Even if the TV is not on, the audio is not turned up, the jury’s attention is not gained or the judge’s permission is not granted, the DVD will begin playback anyway. With a menu, the DVD will pause on a menu that simply states the case caption and has a discreet play button. Then, when everyone is prepared to view the video, choosing “play” will begin the playback.
