What is the purpose of the discovery meeting?
The discovery process has two main goals. The first is to get organizational agreement on the project scope. It is rare that the entire company is in sync with what is going to be implemented, and what the conversion process is going to be. From Lupines perspective, we cant manage a moving target. Therefore, a lot of questions around scope get asked. The second outcome from the discovery process is to create custom implementation materials for our client that are presented during the implementation kickoff meeting. The goal of the discovery process is not to begin making decisions regarding how the chart of accounts is going to be set up, what the unit type numbering methodology will be, or what the financial statements should look like, etc. All of that will be handled in the module design and configuration meetings.
